about

I’m Halle and I live and play in San Francisco. My blog an eclectic tapestry of anecdotes, opinions, and autobiographical reflections with little focus but a lot of heart. I spend a lot of time thinking about technology, globalization, and social-justice; but I’ll post anything that’s on my mind.

I love the entrepreneurial and progressive spirit of Silicon Valley. After a short stint at Intel, I decided that I belong in the start-up environment. I currently work as a product manager at cyworld, where I’m learning about global networks and virtual worlds. Before this, I spent a year at this startup, a social network and video conferencing platform for students.

I also run a grassroots non profit called Yoga Bear. Someday, I hope to merge my passions and push social change via technology. Until then, I’m trying to learn as much as possible about both domains.

  • Nice site, good layout.

  • “universal health care” Do you really want to cover everyone in the entire universe? Would this only apply to homosapiens? Because there could be some life-forms of higher intelligence out there who are sick too.

How many Americans are without healthcare right now? Do you know?

  • “I quit my job in corporate finance to join a social entrepreneurial start up.” I wish people from my business college would do the same… :)

I am always in need of another writer (Politics & YouTube In Review just set up 203 regional and/or metropolitan news on June 2, 2007), so drop by and leave me a message if you’re interested.

  • Hey Halle. I was introduced to your site through JTV a while back. I hope you don’t mind that I added you onto my blogroll. My site is still trying to find it’s voice. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not it’s going to be a website devoted to features, a blog of my daily findings/interests, or maybe a blend of the two. Anyway, I think your blog is great. You seem like a very interesting person, and I enjoy reading your posts. Have a great week.

  • It’s nice to see you alive and well. Keep up the good work, you’re not that bad of a writer.

  • hi, halle nice to see you here,

  • Halle,

I happened to google “livestrong summit 2008″ to see if there were any new updates and saw your blog pop up. I too will be attending and was SO excited to get a scholarship (I’m a med/MPH student). I clicked on the link of your non profit . . .it looks amazing! Hopefully we can meet up and chat at the event. I am really excited about it!

  • Hey Halle. I’ve decided to keep my site up. I had a a couple issues with GoDaddy about some reoccurring billing errors and domain renewals. I was ready to move on to another provider, but today I spoke with different customer service reps who were more customer oriented and willing to work with me. They were very helpful and we were able to solve all of the billing issues. I removed the post since it no longer pertains to my intentions with the site, so I hope you don’t mind me replying to your question here. I hope all is well in SF.
